Afternoon Voice - On the lines of spiritual guidance
Begining from Chicago, the author, In his teens, begins a journey that takes him to spiritual preceptors of great traditions and faiths. Predators, terrorists, mystics and yogis appear in a tale of grit and determination which builds up to supernatural encounters in the Himalayas. and climaxes in a temple-town in India at the feet of a great spiritual ambassador.
The Journey home Radhanatha Swami wrote his autobiography on the request of his friend and god-brother Bhakti Tirtha Swami who from his deathbed asked him to share his story.
The book The Journey Home: Autobiography of an American Swami is the story of how he grew up in a Jewish family in Chicago and through his journey of prayer was led through the 60’s movement in America into Europe, walking and hitchhiking all the way through Europe and the Middle East to India Along the way he met many people who would share their wisdom with him, encouraging him on his search for the truth. He stayed with Yogis in Himalayan caves, in Buddhist Monasteries, Jewish Synagogues, and Christian Churches. He met many teachers and practitioners of spirituality and learned from them. The book details his adventures along the journey.
Francis Xavier Clooney in his review of the book notes “Like many a spiritual autobiography, the external events and details turn out to be the setting for the author’s inner quest. His journey is a humbling.”

Chitralekha Magazine - Radhanath Swami speaks to Hiren Kumar Bose on God's relationship with the seeker
Do we need God?
When love of God awakens within us. it naturally manifests as compassion towards all beings, transforming greed into generosity, arrogance into humility, vengeance into forgiveness. Sectarianism into appreciation of others, hate into love, envy into compassion It is this transformation that comes through a god-conscious life.
Does God live in rituals?
A ritual is like an envelope that is meant to send a message. Religious rituals are ways of expressing the inner intention of our hearts God sees our intention, our sincerity.
Is there a dummies' guide to getting the right guru?
The vedas teach that a seeker needs to understand the science of finding a Guru. Guru speaks what is in the scriptures. lives by those principles and continues the tradition of saints who exhibited the universal spiritual principles that we have been speaking of.
What is the relationship whit God one should aspire for?
We are naturally attracted to God (or Krishna) when the heart is cleansed of the pollution of egoism. On the path of Bhakti we aspire toenter into a relationship with God in the spirit of unconditional unmotivated love.
